It would make a lot of sense for Sidney to get revenge inScream 7. It must be something she has been thinking about for a long time.
Redditor @BrianTheReckless suggested thatSidney play a more active role in uncovering Ghostface, which would be a change from the last movie. It can definitely be argued that inScream 4andScream (2022), Sidney is part of a team who tries to figure out who Ghostface is rather than doing most of the work herself. The fan wrote:

BeforeNeve Campbell said no to starring inScream 6,she came back for Scream (2022). It’s possible to say Sidney doesn’t have as compelling a character arc as fans hoped for. While she does return to Woodsboro to find Ghostface along with Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), fans don’t hear much about where Sidney has been or what she’s been doing.
When Dewey Riley (David Arquette) phones Sidney at the beginning ofScream (2022),she’s pushing a stroller, but nothing more about her family is revealed. It would have been nice to include a bit more background on what she had experienced in the years since leaving home. WhetherScream 7is the last movie in the horror franchiseor not,hopefully Sidney will go after Ghostface but also have an emotional arc. Then fans will truly be satisfied by the upcoming sequel.
