After over three years of waiting sinceHalo Infinitewas revealed at E3 2018, eager fans can finally download and play part of the game. This comes after Xbox unexpectedly launched themultiplayer component ofHalo Infiniteon November 15. Following the surprise release of the multiplayer, many content creators have checked out the game. One of these top streamers was Shroud.
As one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, many people tune in regularly to watch Shroud play video games. While he plays all sorts of titles, he is well known for playing first-person shooters, such asValorantandCounter-Strike: Global Offensive. Unsurprisingly, many members of Shroud’s audience wanted him to play the latest installment in theHaloseries. Unfortunately forHalofans, it seems that his experience with the multiplayer was lackluster.

During a livestream on November 15, Shroud decided to jump into some multiplayer games ofHalo Infinite. After playing several matches, a member of his Twitch viewership asked the streamer what his impressions were. Not one to sugarcoat his opinion, he revealed that he wasn’t having a lot of fun playing the game. However, he explained to his viewers that he knew what he was getting into. “It’s about what I expected, to be honest. It’sHalo,” he said. After playing for only a little over an hour, he had seen enough and went to play another game.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t all negative from Shroud, as he believed that there were several positive aspects to the game. He said that he liked that the multiplayer component wasfree-to-play on both PC and Xboxconsoles. “It’s cool that it’s free, though,” he said.
In addition, he revealed that he was more excited to playtheHalo Infinitecampaign. Despite not enjoying the multiplayer gameplay, he wanted to check out the next adventure involving the Master Chief. Furthermore, he noted that he wanted to see if the community would come up with “any cool custom maps.” Unfortunately, he might have to wait a while longer for maps created by the community, as Forge, the series' map editor, won’t be coming to the game until later.
Besides playingHalo Infinite, Shroud has been checking out other games. Recently, he has been playingBattlefield 2042since it was released for early access. While he continues to play the game on stream, he has had his frustrations with it as well. Time will tell if Shroud returns toHalo Infinitein several weeks to check out the campaign. If he does, it will be interesting to see if he has more fun playing as the Master Chief.
Halo Infinitereleases on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The multiplayer is available now.
