Konami has pulled the curtain back on the pre-order bonuses and Deluxe Edition for theSilent Hill 2remake. Horror game fans have been waiting years to get their hands on theSilent Hill 2remake, but the wait is nearly at an end. Luckily for fans of the long-running survival-horror franchise, Konami has finally confirmed the game’s release date.
As part of the PlayStation State of Play event, Konami confirmed that theSilent Hill 2remake will be released on October 8 for PC and PS5. The State of Play gave players a look at a brief newSilent Hill 2remake trailer, but the subsequentSilent Hill Transmission eventshowcased an uninterrupted gameplay sequence as well as the pre-order bonuses and Deluxe Edition content.

By pre-ordering the standard edition of theSilent Hill 2remake, all players can get a Mira the Dog mask, while PS5 gamers can also get an exclusive Robbie the Rabbit mask. The Deluxe Edition of the game includes a digital artbook and digital soundtrack, plus aPyramid Headmask made out of a pizza box. Those that pre-order the Deluxe Edition will get all of this content plus 48-hour early access. The standard version of the game costs $69.99, whereas the Deluxe Edition will retail for $79.99.

Blocking early access behind a Deluxe Edition pre-order will potentially annoy someSilent Hill 2fans, whereas others will jump on the opportunity to return to the long-dormant franchise ahead of schedule. Otherwise, the franchise has stuck to spin-offs, experimental projects, or, in the case of the stretch from 2015 to 2022, nothing at all.

Even thoughSilent Hill: AscensionandSilent Hill: The Shortage Messagewere not well-received, there is still hope for theSilent Hillfranchise yet.
