Skyrim’s"The House of Horrors"side quests brings the Dragonborn into contact withMolag Bal, a Daedric Princewho seeks revenge on a priest of Boethiah. Seeing as he is unable to enact revenge himself, however, he is forced to rely on the Dragonborn to bring his enemy to justice.
How To Start The House Of Horrors Side Quest
Upon enteringthe city of Markarth, players shouldhead west, along the stream of water, until they encountera man standing outside a house on the right. The man, named Vigilant Tyranus, will then approach the Dragonborn and ask them to help him investigate theAbandoned Housejust behind him, as he believes a powerful Daedra has taken up residence there.
When the conversation ends, the Dragonborn can follow Tyranus inside the Abandoned House and trail after him. Eventually, players will be faced with a locked door, and Tyranus will make a break for the entrance. A voice will then command the Dragonborn tokill Tyranus, and since there is no way to escape the house, the only way to progress the quest is to oblige.

Once Tyranus is dead, the locked door will open, allowing players to head deeper into the Abandoned House and then into a small cave. Reaching the end of the path, the Dragonborn will find aRusty Macesticking out of anAltar. Interacting with the mace will cause a trap to spring, resulting in the Dragonborn being captured. After a short conversation, the Daedric Prince, Molag Bal, will task the Dragonborn with seeking out thepriest of Boethiah.
Where To Find The Priest Of Boethiah
If players have already visitedDeepwood Redoubt, they can fast-travel there to find the priest of Boethiah; otherwise, the location can be found by traveling directlywest from Solitude. Once there, the Dragonborn will need to either sneak by or fight their way through a group ofForswornuntil they reach the entrance to Deepwood Redoubt itself.
Inside Deepwood Redoubt, players should turn their attention to the path leading right and travel into the next room. To the left, they will find aMaster Lock doorthat must be opened in order to reach the next area. After passing through the door and crossing the bridge, players will find a door that leads toDeepwood Vale. Deepwood Vale is crawling with Forsworn, but most of them can be picked off from a distance if players have access to a bow; if not, players should prepare themselves for a pretty tense enemy rush.

Traveling east towardHag’s Endand heading up to the platform on the right, players will find the priest of Boethiah,Logrolf the Willful, crouched down in a tent. Upon freeing him, he will run away, and a prompt will appear, tasking the Dragonborn withreturning to the Abandoned Housein Markarth.
