Summary
Solo Levelinghas a very vibrant cast of characters, encompassing different countries and all walks of life. However, the show does focus mainly on Sung Jinwoo, and other Hunters aren’t often given the spotlight to showcase their powers.
Whether due to the timing of their appearance in the story, unfortunate circumstances, or other factors, many interesting and powerful individuals didn’t really get to “go all out”, save for a handful of Sung Jinwoo’s closest companions.As the anime continues to air, many fans are hoping for new scenes with at least some of them.
8Jung Yoontae
A-Rank, Fighter
Jung Yoontae is a member of the Knights Guild and is often accompanying the Guild Leader on various meetings and Raids. He is incredibly loyal to Park Jongsoo and does not lightly take anyone talking ill about his boss or his abilities.
Aside frombeing a great swordsman, Jung Yoontae has an interesting quality to him. Unlike many, even high-ranking Hunters, he is able to see Sung Jinwoo’s Shadows. Ironically, since no one else can see or even sense them, no one believes him and mocks his drinking habits.
7Park Jongsoo
A-Rank, Tanker
Despite only being an A-Rank, Park Jongsoo is the leader of the Knights Guild and is often shown as a very powerful Hunter. He easily won a friendly competition with a Japanese Hunter during the Jeju Island Raid Arc and defeated powerful Demon Beasts.
Being a Tanker, he is incredibly tough and is capable of producing energy shields to protect himself and his comrades. On top of that, he possesses incredible speed for someone wearing heavy armor. Overall, he deserves his place as a Guild Leader, as he takes good care of his members, both inside and outside of Dungeons.
6Yoo Soohyun
A-Rank, Model
It is hard to accurately gauge Yoo Soohyun’s abilities, as her path is very different from an ordinary Hunter. She is a rather popular model and spends little to no time in Dungeons. Still, she is an A-Rank Hunter and ultimately is one of the few members of Sung Jinwoo’s Guild.
A-Ranks are considered to be incredibly powerful Hunters and often take high positions within Guilds. It would be interesting to seewhy she left that life behind her, or the effects of being a Hunter on the day-to-day of a normal job.
5Lim Tae-Gyu
S-Rank, Ranger
Lim Tae-Gyu is the leader of the Fiends Guild and is one of the few Rangers that viewers ever got to see. His combat proficiency clearly lies in fighting from afar with his bow, as he is seen to be quite uncomfortable and rather weak in the sparring match during Jeju Island Arc.
Interestingly enough, he seems to be one of the highest-paid Hunters in Korea, as his financial status is mentioned a few times, and during the Raid, he was told to stay back due to his high rates.
4Jonas
S-Rank, Unknown Class
Jonas is Brazil’s strongest Hunter and isranked 6th in the entire world. Being a vessel of a Ruler, he also possessed incredible powers and it was possible that he was able to do Spiritual Body Manifestation.
Very little is known about him or his abilities, as he was only mentioned off-screen and after his passing. Every National-Level Hunter is on a completely different level, and it would be thrilling to see just what Brazil’s Strongest was truly capable of.
3Siddharth Bachchan
National Level Hunter
Even less is known about Siddharth Bachchan, India’s strongest Hunter. Which is a shame, since he is ranked even higher than Jonas, sitting in4thplace in the world. At the time, the Monarchs were hunting down every known vessel of a Ruler, and presumably, Siddharth faced the Monarchs in the same way as Christopher Reed.
There is a chance for him to appear in the Anime, along with other off-screen battles that happened. Siddharth Bachchan has a surprising amount of fans already, despite his little presence in the show.
2Go Gunhee
S-Rank, Chairman of the Hunter Association
Go Gunhee has quite a bit of presence in the show, and his political power and wisdom have been used time and time again toaid the ongoing battle against Gates and Beasts. Many consider him the strongest Hunter in Korea, despite his fairly old age.
While he does get to fight in the manhwa, the timing of it is quite unfortunate. Given how much he reflects on the “good old times”, it would be interesting to see him during his youth, at the peak of his combat power. However, even with his disadvantages, he still held his own against one of the Monarchs.
1Woo Jinchul
Woo Jinchul is an A-Rank Hunter, and the Chief Inspector of the Korean Hunters Association’s Surveillance Team. He is often seen throughout the series, doing his best to keep the Hunters in check, dealing with Hunters and Beasts both.
He is also considered to be one of the most powerful A-Ranks, supposedly teetering on the brink of an S-Rank. Unfortunately, fans are still waiting for a proper showcase of his powers, as his most notable fight was against the Architect, which was more about evasion and survival.
Solo Leveling
A-1 Pictures' Solo Leveling is an anime based on Chugong’s popular web novel. Set in an unforgiving fantasy world where hunters explore dungeons filled with monsters, the vulnerable Sung Jinwoo gains a significant power boost after he is picked to be a solo player by the System.
