Garfield was talking to Collider and went on to say that he was really intothe Sinister Six film.Sinister Sixwas set to be directed and written by Drew Goddard, who’s notable works includeCabin in the Woods, The Martian, Daredevil, The Defenders, Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane, andWorld War Z. When speaking on the canceled movie, Garfield had nothing but good things to say, even going as far as to praise the director’s other works. “I don’t know how close it got, but I definitely had a few meetings, and it was really exciting. I’ve got to say, because I love Drew so much, and I love Cabin in the Woods, and the other stuff that he’s made,” the Spider-Man actor said. “We just got on like a house on fire. I loved his vision, he’s so unique and odd and off-kilter and unconventional in his creative choices….Maybe one day he’ll get to do it, but it would’ve been cool.”

It’s important to point out that Goddard didn’t write or direct either movie, as fans were widely disappointed withThe Amazing Spider-Manseries' storyline. With Goddard on board, the story would’ve hopefully been much better than the earlier films. Fans, however, praised theAmazing Spider-Manfilms for the acting, set design, and even the special effects. The actors performed well, but they weren’t handed a script that made fans want more, despite how much was set up behind the scenes.

Regardless, with rumors thatGarfield will be returning forSpider-Man: No Way Home, fans can hopefully get a dose of what was supposed to happen inSinister Six,along with a sense of nostalgia by seeing Garfield back as the famous web-slinger. Fans don’t have to wait much longer to find out, as the film will be in theaters this December.
