Out of the three damage types that players can deal with and endure inStarfield, physical damage is the most straightforward one. It simply refers to any ballistic weapons outside of lasers and particle weapons, as well as any EM weapons.

While ENGY and EM are a bit more niche and situational, PHYS damage is something everyone will have to deal with most of the time. Hence, any spacesuit with at least a decent damage resistance rating for it is well worth the player’s time. Here are spacesuits that come packed with PHYS Damage Resistance inStarfield.
Honorable Mentions
This list is still a work in progress as more spacesuits are discovered. The following will be added fully in due time:
8UC Combat Spacesuit
As far as combat-oriented spacesuits go, the UC Combat one is a decent one to choose if players happen to stumble upon it early in the game. It might not boast the highest resistance to physical damage, but it’s better than some of the other suits that are more focused on exploration or resource gathering.
This suit is purchased from a few different vendors and is most likely more common in the UC space, so visit the vendors in Cydonia, Gagarin, and New Atlantis to check their inventories for it.

7Ranger Spacesuit
Themed around the more old-school lookof the Freestar Collective, the Ranger Spacesuit is earned when players finally earn the Ranger title at the end of the Freestar Ranger quest. It comes with a few other rewards as well which sort of overshadow it.

It’s not the strongest defense against physical damage at 96, but it’s ideal for early-game, especially since this questline is something players should complete as soon as possible anyway for the great Star Eagle ship.
6Mercury Spacesuit
When players eventually stumble into NASA’s old facility duringthe main Constellationquestline, they should keep their eyes wide open for this foil-like, old-school spacesuit. It’s located in the NASA exhibition hall inside a glass case and will be difficult to miss when venturing further in.
At 108 PHYS Damage Resistance, this spacesuit is nothing to scoff at. It also has a decent ENGY and EM Resistance, so it’s a great overall defense against the three main types of damage that enemies can dish out inStarfield.

5Mercenary Spacesuit
For all the mercs inStarfield, this spacesuit is an obvious pick. The Mercenary Spacesuit is one that can be looted or bought from a wide variety of vendors, so a bit of luck and effort is required to find it at first. That said, it’s worth the search.
The suit has great overall resistance to all damage types, with its PHYS Damage Resistance a nice, solid 112.

4Mantis Spacesuit
The Mantis Spacesuit is one that players will either hate or love due to how unique it looks (especially when paired with its quirky helmet). It’s a pretty strong spacesuit, providing 116 PHYS Damage Resistance and a bunch of other bonuses.
To get this, players will have to randomly find a note on an enemy about buried loot in a faraway system. An interesting side quest with tremendous rewards at the end, getting the Mantis’s outfit and spaceship shouldn’t be something that players miss out on.

3Mark I Spacesuit
If early-game is proving to be a bit of a challenge, head to the basementof the Lodge in New Atlantisto find the Mark I Spacesuit, Constellation version. It’s locked behind a Master-tier lock, but some players have reported success in looting it from between the cracks in the case.

Mark I provides 120 PHYS Damage, which is pretty significant if players get it right off the bat when arriving at Jemison. If the lock proves too difficult, at least it’s easy to know where to find it and come back to it later.
2Bounty Hunter Spacesuit
The impressive Bounty Hunter spacesuitboth looks and is good, thanks to its solid resistance numbers. PHYS Damage Resistance is no exception here, as it ranks second-highest at around 128.
Getting this suit might be a bit more RNG-dependent than players would like, but checking around at multiple vendors will usually yield quick results (New Atlantis, Neon, Cydonia, Akila City, and The Key are all good locations to check).

1Trackers Alliance Spacesuit
Although not as visually impressive as the Bounty Hunter suit, the Trackers Alliance suit wins this ranking at 144 PHYS Resistance. It certainly can’t competeagainst the many Starborn suit variants, but in terms of non-unique suits that can be acquired by entering New Game+, it’s incredible how much damage it can negate.
This suit is found at a couple of different vendors in the major cities but also appears quite frequently as regular loot around structures and POIs in the world ofStarfield, so go look around—one is bound to eventually stumble upon it.
