Summary

Tekken 8receives update 1.01.04, which fixes a number of bugs impacting players while also making balance adjustments to moves for certain characters like Jun and Reina. It’s been a whirlwind few days forTekken 8following its recent launch, as the popular fighting game series has proven to be a massive hit with players. In fact,Tekken 8surpassed 50,000 on Steam right after launch, representing a massive spike in players that the previous games in the franchise were not able to achieve.

However, with most modern fighting games, the launch is only the beginning. As expected from this franchise, Bandai Namco has confirmed DLC characters will be coming, including legacy character Eddy Gordo, and it’s likely there are plans for other content down the road as well. In between new content drops,Tekken 8continues to receive updates to not only fix issues plaguing the game, but to keep the roster balanced and fair, as some characters like Jun have already been seen as overpowered by many in the community. The latestTekken 8patch attempts to address a few community concerns.

Jun Kazama Facts- Tekken 8 Return

Update 1.01.04, which wasteased earlier this week forTekken 8, addresses a variety of things with the fighting game, including fixing a number of issues with certain moves. Specifically, the Special Style control method had an issue where certain moves would have a 1 frame delay during startup when preparing an attack during recovery. Balcony breaks have also had an issue fixed, specifically the pushback collision detection.

Character Balancing Adjustments

However, for manyTekken 8players, the biggest piece of this update will likely be the various character adjustments Bandai Namco has made. For most players, Jun Kazama andDragunov have proven to be near the top of most tier listsand both have recieved changes to certain moves within this update. For Jun, two of her moves have been tweaked, one with an increase to recovery time, while the other had the reaction upon hit changes so that players can no longer chain unintended follow up attacks. As for Dragunov, three of his moves were altered in an attempt to prevent unintended high damage combos being performed while also making his Sneak slightly easier to counter. In addition, numerous other characters saw tweaks like Devil Jun, Jack-8, Reina, and more.

While not a massive overhaul, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not this update causes a change to any of the character rankings this early in the game’s lifecycle. Alongside these updates, many players are hopeful thatTekken 8continues the series DLC traditions by continuing to add both classic and surprising characters. Onecrossover most fans would like to see happen is withFinal Fantasy 7’s Tifa Lockhart, a brawling style character that many feel would fit extremely well within theTekkenuniverse.
