The Callisto Protocolhas potential to be a great horror game, but it’s not going to reach its full potential until next year. Striking Distance Studios and Krafton releasedThe Callisto Protocolto mixed reviews, with some of the criticism aimed at the game’s short length and replay value. Others have been upset withThe Callisto Protocol’s performance, especially as it pertains to the PC version. Future updates will undoubtedly address these problems and put the game in a much better state.

The Callisto Protocolis a short game, though that is fairly common within the horror game genre. It takes somewhere between six and 10 hours to beatThe Callisto Protocolon average, which wouldn’t be a big deal, except the game lacks replay value. At the time of this writing,The Callisto Protocolhas no New Game+ option, which is a huge disappointment for fans that reach the end credits and want to play more.

The good news is thatThe Callisto Protocolis adding a New Game+ featureon June 25, 2025, along with a Hardcore Mode. These additions should go a long way in fixing one of the main complaints fans have aboutThe Callisto Protocol, giving players more reason to keep playing and more bang for their buck. Better yet, the additions will be completely free of charge.

When is The Callisto Protocol Getting New Game+?

2023 will see more new content added toThe Callisto Protocolbeyond its New Game+ mode and the Hardcore Mode. Those that decide to purchaseThe Callisto Protocolseason passcan look forward to cosmetic bundles in February, March, and Spring, with Summer 2023 bringing new story content to the table. It’s unclear if this story content will pick up afterThe Callisto Protocol’s ending or if it will follow different characters in Black Iron or what, but fans will likely learn more about what it has in store next year.

It remains to be seen if the new content will be any good or not, butThe Callisto Protocoladding New Game+ mode by itself is going to help the game reach the next level. By next year, many of the game’s lingering technical issues should be resolved as well.
