While the series has been slumbering for the last few years, it seems like it is making a big comeback thanks toThe House of the Dead Remakeon the Nintendo Switch.
This remake of the classic light gun game was announced last year during Nintendo’s indie showcase, with it being developed by MegaPixel Studio and published by Forever Entertainment. Thegameplay of thisHouse of the Deadremakewill retain many of the original’s gameplay features, with the player facing off hordes of undead monsters in a fast-paced thriller rail shooter environment. This Q&A was provided to Nintendo Everything, which went over the game’s controls, options, features, and a lot more. For example, since the Switch doesn’t have a light gun peripheral,The House of the Dead Remakewill have both gyro aiming controls combined with analog buttons to function. The Gyro can work with a pair of Joy-Cons, one single Joy-con, or even theSwitch Pro Controller. There are also a number of customizable options for this gyro aiming as well.
The Q&A also listed a number of options and playable modes for this remake ofHouse of the Dead, with a classic scoring mode that is based on the arcade version and a modern version that contains more point multipliers. There are also a few difficulty modes with the amount of damage being dictated depending on the selected mode. The game will also have local multiplayer, with either a competitive or co-op mode available for the campaigns. The cooperative mode gives both players a shared point total, with continues after death costing 10 in-game credits. The competitive mode gives players their own point total and requires their own 10 in-game credit cost.
