Although typically a serious series, theRed Dead Redemptiongames do have some odd, mysterious things going on, and some fans have been discussing some theories around some of their favorite ones. With the 2018 sequel going down as one ofRockstar’s most powerful games in terms of story, the Wild West franchise continues to be a talking point for a lot of players. And that’s understandable, because there’s a lot going on in this fictional take on turn of the century America.

While the studio is now putting a lot of stock into finally finishingGrand Theft Auto 6, the developer’s most recent releases are still getting a look in. For example, aside from having a dedicated community,Red Dead Redemption 2recently got a sizeable update, which was surprising at the time seeing as a lot of people assumed anything that wasn’t part ofGrand Theft Autowas getting left behind. In any case, theRDRname is still on the lips of many, inspiring debates around all manner of subjects.

For example, a recent post on Reddit, as seen by GamesRadar, has got people thinking about their favoriteRed Dead Redemptionmystery. At the time of writing, the top comment is by user ThEhlem who refers to the town of Pleasance, a small settlement that has been abandoned and contains a series of tombstones. Another person talks about the “f**king scary” giant snake inRDR2. A comment says that this could be an Easter egg referencingThe Jungle Bookmovie, while someone else says it could be a nod to a real life abandoned place in Ohio called “Helltown.” There are also some whale bones in the sequel which have been mysteriously washed up on shore, though user Heartlesssigil says this is more common than people realize.

In any case, there are certainlyplenty of mysteries in theRed Dead Redemptionseries to keep people talking. As mentioned above, the both games are usually quite sincere, which means any weird encounters that fans experience while playing are bound to stand out.

It will be interesting to see whether any more interesting Easter eggs turn up in a new entry. Of course, there’sno confirmation on whetherRed Dead Redemption 3is in developmentyet, but no doubt many would love to see the continuation of the celebratedRDRname. Hopefully, Rockstar will at least give some details about the future of this franchise, but it’s unlikely a follow-up will see the light of day until way afterGTA 6.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
