Perhaps the most exciting Summer Games Fest announcement thus far has been the upcomingTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2remaster that is set to launch this coming September. A lot of the information around it has been incredibly positive and well-received, with many fans ready for thenostalgia of the skating game.

Notably, however, not everything has been revealed yet. It still a few months from release, and its marketing strategy still has a few things up in store forTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. One of those may just be crossplay for the game, as a recent interview indicates is a possibility.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2will feature local and online multiplayer, which naturally begs the question of whether or not crossplay will be available. Many games likeCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehave crossplay, allowing opposing console fans to play with their friends, but many games have yet to include the popular feature. It’s been a big demand forApex Legends, for example, but has yet to manifest properly.

In a recent interview with GameSpot, Vicarious Visions' Jen Oneal commented on both microtransactions and crossplay, to some extent. The former was confirmed to not exist at launch butmicrotransactions may come toTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2post release, if the demand is there. When asked about crossplay, Oneal simply stated, “when the time comes, we will say more.”

Of course, this cryptic comment gives fans more questions than answers. If it wasn’t coming at all or if there were no plans to include it, the simplest answer would have been a “no.” However, the vague answer seems to indicate that something is possible, and it would no doubt be abig move forTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. Another question would be rather this indicates possible post-launch support of crossplay instead of an at-launch feature, but that’s hard to say.

What the vague answer does mean is that it was not shut down for this remaster ofTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. It’ll be interesting to see when and if it comes to the game, all the while playingolder versions of skaters like Tony Hawk.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2launches on August 01, 2025 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
