[UPDATE: 13-06-2025 - GOG has clarified that the survey included incorrect information and the Ubisoft Plus subscription tiers were an error on their part.]

A survey may have revealed thatUbisoftis considering expanding its Ubisoft Plus subscription service with multiple new tiers. Subscription services are increasingly popular among major video game publishers and platforms, including Sony’s PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass, and EA Play. Ubisoft Plus is relatively straightforward compared to these other services, but with a strong 2023 inUbisoft’s future, perhaps the publisher is interested in increasing its monetization efforts.

Ubisoft Plus, previously known as Uplay Plus, first launched in 2019 as a subscription gaming service granting access to a library of Ubisoft games for a monthly fee. That includes day-one access to many ofUbisoft’s newest games. The service was initially a PC-only service, but has since been brought to PlayStation and Xbox consoles, too. Ubisoft Plus typically costs $14.99 per month, but it does offer a discount of just $1 for its first month.

For those unfamiliar with Ubisoft Plus, the subscription service doesn’t currently have any tiers to select from. The closest it gets is theUbisoft Plus Classics libraryavailable via a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscription. Ubisoft Plus Gold, Ultimate, and Deluxe currently don’t exist, or at least have yet to be publicly announced.

Either GOG knows something that video game players don’t yet, or this is a very strange inclusion on its survey. Given that it’s a survey, meaning it’s unlikely to have been vetted with a fine-toothed comb, it’s hardly reliable with any certainty. Still, there’s no clear explanation for why Ubisoft Plus Gold, Ultimate, and Deluxe would be included unless there’s more to the situation than meets the eye.

The most persuasive aspect of the situation that makes it seem like something more than an error is that so many other services already have multiple tiers for their subscriptions. Xbox Game Pass has Ultimate, EA Play has Pro, andPlayStation Plus has three tierswith Essential, Extra, and Premium. Creating different tiers that split up the service’s benefits and charge more for access to new games would be something players could expect fromUbisoft. Whether it’s true remains to be seen.
