Ojisan arguably has the worst luck in the world. Not only was his Isekai adventureunnecessarily difficult (thanks to his less-than-appealing visage), but this poor guy has had a particularly tough time telling his tale since returning to Japan.

Takafumi’s Uncle introduced himself to the world with a July 2022 debut and has suffered countless setbacks and delays pretty much from the get-go, with major problems arising as early as episode 4. Takehito Koyasu has likely been happily glued to hisSEGAwhile waiting to wow viewers with his otherworldy content, eager to resume showing off his flashy powers and assisting with his nephew’s love life.

During these unfortunate times, COVID-19 is to blame for each disruption inUncle From Another World’sproduction schedule, as increased infection rates have painted Atelier Pontdarc Studios into a corner. Thankfully, the studio seems to value health and safety and would rather delay results than endanger its workers. This latest postponement in particular has affected the production team in China, causing a similar situation forBOFURIandNieR: Automata. After eight months of loyal patience, fans can finally see Season 1 through to the end as of8 March 2023, when episode 13 is dueto air.

“New Episode Coming Soon” to Netflix

Netflixis best known for releasing entireseasons at a time, as opposed to a weekly,simulcast-type setup. While most binge-watchers prefer this method, many anime fans would like to stay up-to-date with Japanese content if possible, to avoid stumbling across spoilers while innocently browsing the web.Netflixtook a chance withUncle From Another Worldby releasing weekly updates of this alternative anime and was promptly “shot in the foot,” so to speak, when the content was no longer readily available.

Netflixis not accustomed to dealing with delays and assumedly tries to circumvent them, and has therefore stopped streaming updated episodes of Ojisan’s adventures, with only seven episodes currently available (since 29 May 2025.) Fortunately, the second segment ofUncle From Another Worldwill get added to the lineup once episode 13 is released, and expectant fans can begin streaming again from9 March 2023onward.Netflixhas not yet made an official statement;however, they have updated Ojisan’s record to state “13 Episodes” on their website, suggesting that the complete first season will be readily available, for uninterrupted entertainment. Here’s to hoping that it is well “worth the wait!”
