Completing these duties rewards unique event tokens, which players can use to claim exclusive event-specific rewards. Notably, the game has never reintroduced past Star Paths or their items in any updates since it entered Early Access in late 2022. Thus, collecting as many event tokens as possible is crucial for acquiring these, at the moment, one-time-only items.
Dreamlight Valley’sHaunted Holiday Star Pathintroduces an interesting twist. The usual straightforward task descriptions have been swapped out for enigmatic hints. While the mystery adds excitement, it also demands a good understanding of Disney films to interpret the objectives. This poses a challenge for those unfamiliar withDisney’s cinematic universe, especially when some hints refer to characters not yet present inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
Legendary Villager Of The Wind And Sea
One Dreamlight Duty from the Haunted Holiday Star Path asks the player to “Spend time with a legendary villager of the wind and sea.”Maui is “a legendary villager of the wind and sea” inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
To complete this specific Star Path duty,Dreamlight Valleyplayers will need to speak with Mauiand select the “Let’s hang out” option, which has the demigod accompany the player during their activities throughout the Valley. The player needs tospend 15 minuteswith Maui at their side to complete this duty. This time does not need to be consecutive, so any time spent with Maui will count toward the 15-minute total.

This specific clue is slightly easier for players to solve on their own than some others, as one of Maui’s favorite tasks is constantly reminding the player and other villagers of his incredible exploits asa powerful demigod. The player learns of some of these fantastic feats during their initial interactions with Maui when unlocking him in the Moana realm, and will occasionally be reminded of how great he isin daily discussions.
Players who are familiar withthe Disney filmMoanashould be able to decode this clue quite easily, as there’s no other villager so egotistical and proud of their accomplishments that they could be referred to as “legendary.” In an early trailer for the film, Moana encounters Maui, who proudly boasts that he is, “Only the greatest demigod in all the Pacific Islands!” a self-declared title that he makes every attempt to prove in both the movie and inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
The fate of future Star Path events incorporating riddles instead of clear-cut tasks remains uncertain. The change certainly spices up the gameplay, adding an element of mystery and puzzle-solving to otherwise straightforward objectives. Yet, not all players are thrilled with the added complexity. Although the game’s developers have yet to clarify if this new approach to task descriptions will stick around, many are hopeful that future Star Paths will at least keep clues within the realm ofDreamlight Valley’s established world.
