The menu music forDragonflightoffers the 10th take on the memorable theme fromWorld of Warcraft. Though it begins with the familiar minor-key dirges players will immediately recognize from previous menu themes, they are offset by inspiring, hopeful key shifts. Then, halfway through, the theme takes off with a magnificent, soaring melody reminiscent ofHow to Train Your Dragon. TheDragonflighttheme is quite short in total, clocking in at under three minutes. This makes it comparable to the earliest menu themes, like VanillaWoWandBurning Crusade, rather than the longer themes which began inWrath of the Lich King.
TheShadowlandstheme was nearly four times the length, with a long and meandering take on the iconic menu music. Each section of the theme seemingly passed through each of the majorShadowlandsareas, including Oribos, the Maw, and all four playable zones.TheWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflightmenutheme is significantly shorter and more concise in comparison.World of Warcraftmay have done this intentionally to hearken back to its earliest roots.
ManyWorld of Warcraftplayers are excited to get their first taste of the music ofDragonflight. Thesoundtracks of the variousWorld of Warcraftexpansionsare some of their most memorable parts, and consistently breathe life into Azeroth and beyond. Though some players wish the theme was longer, they enjoy what they have heard so far, and cannot wait to hear more music from the new expansion pack.
In a recent forum post,World of Warcraftconfirmed the final season ofShadowlandswas ending on October 25. If this is true, the newDragonflightmenu and its music will be available to all players in just a couple of weeks. Once the Pre-Patch begins, players will have plenty of time to listen to the newDragonflightmenu theme as they spend hours creating their perfect Dracthyr characters and waiting in queues.
