Summary
After much anticipation,World of Warcraftfinally reveals the full map of Khaz Algar, the new continent making its debut inThe War Within. One of the most exciting things about watchingWorld of Warcraftevolve throughout its long history has been the perpetual expansion of its world map. Players traveled to the distant corners of Azeroth, the shattered lands of Draenor, and even the cosmic realm of Death, as the blank corners of the map grew ever more crowded. The world of Azeroth is set to expand once again in The War Within, as players will make their way to the Isle of Dorn before descending into the depths below.
There will be fournew zones inThe War Within, all set on the continent of Khaz Algar. However, unlike past expansion packs such asDragonflightorCataclysm, the majority ofThe War Withinwill take place underground. Hallowfall, the Ringing Deeps, and Azj-Kahet will make use of the technology developed for Zaralek Cavern in Patch 10.1 to create a seamless experience forWorld of Warcraftplayers as they delve deeper into the dark.

Spotted by players on the testing servers forThe War Within, the new build comes with a world map for Khaz Algar. As befits the art style, it colorfully separates the three underground zones and establishes the major landmarks thatWorld of Warcraftplayers will be able to visit throughout their journey. Azj-Kahet is the only zone without a map for now, which is where thefirst raid inThe War Withinwill take place.
WoW War Within Map
The subterranean region of Khaz Algar can be accessed via Dornogal, the capital of theearthen dwarvesand the new expansion hub inThe War Within. What makes the world map slightly misleading is that it implies the three underground zones are all located on the same level. However, part of what makes Azj-Kahet so foreboding of a location is that it lies below the Ringing Deeps and Hallowfall, and the core concept of the expansion leaves ample room for an even deeper layer to be added in a future patch.
AsDragonflight’s final patchcomes to a close, and players turn their eyes on the pre-patch forThe War Within, the first chapter of the Worldsoul Saga is about to commence. Though it remains to be seen how popular the new storytelling format will be amongWorld of Warcraftfans, the next three expansions are all expected to form a cohesive thematic whole. The War Withinwill hit the live servers on July 01, 2025, shortly after the end of theMists of PandariaRemix event.
