Since the launch of the Xbox Series X in 2020, there’s only been one special edition Series X based on a first-party Xbox game that’s been made widely available. Celebrating 20 years of theHalofranchise, Xbox released theHaloSeries X alongsideHalo Infinite’s launch in 2021. Despite this, Xbox has been no stranger to producing a number of Series X and S consoles themed after games and movie franchises as part of fun giveaway events. ARedfall-themed Xbox Series X was the grand prize of a sweepstakes leading up to Arkane’s vampire FPS earlier this year. With the launch of FromSoftware’sArmored Core 6just about a week away, Xbox took to Twitter to reveal an impressiveArmored Core-themed Xbox Series X and wireless controller as part of a giveaway event. Both the console and controller come in a large, rusty-looking ammo case. The console itself features a slick gray and black design, with the gray panels sporting a weathered and scratched look, in-line with the worn nature of the battle-hardened mechs inArmored Core’s apocalyptic world. The controller features a matching design with sharp black buttons, and both pieces display the fullArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconlogo.
To have a chance at winning this gorgeousArmored Coreconsole, fans must first be following both Xbox’s andArmored Core’s Twitter accounts. Then, they’ll simply need to retweet Xbox’s original tweet, accompanied by the XboxArmoredCoreSweepstakes hashtag. Fans will have until September 1 to enter the giveaway, which extends beyondArmored Core 6’s August 25 release date. The winner will be selected on September 5, and notified on September 6.
SinceArmored Core 6is the next big game from the legendary FromSoftware, it makes sense it would receive the limited edition Xbox Series X giveaway treatment. As for Xbox, with a number of major titles still set torelease this Fall likeLies of P,Alan Wake 2,Assassin’s Creed Mirage,Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,and a whole lot more, this likely won’t be Xbox’s final special edition console giveaway of the year.
