Xbox has seen its fair share of iconic villains that have consistently proven to be a thorn in the sides of players. After all, the legacy of these consoles stretch back a long time, withthe brand enjoying its fair share of exclusivesthat have become pretty iconic in their own right. Their characters have become staples of pop culture, including the dastardly villains featured in these games.

Some heinous characters present in Xbox games really cross a line when it comes to inflicting untold death and destruction everywhere around them. The following villains are especially notable for being some of the most despicable characters in gaming history, in no small part due to their penchant of destroying everything and everyone around them.

7High Prophet Of Truth (Halo)

It’s only a given that the leader of the Covenant, who is egging on this race to destroy humanity itself, would make his way on the list. The High Prophet of Truth seems like a powerless character at first glance, before his true sinister motivations come to light once he gains more power and influence over the Covenant.

He is a truly despicable character who will always try and achieve his goals, regardless of the consequences. He might be taken care ofby the end ofHalo 3, but by that time, the damage he’s caused is already catastrophic.

Lance Corporal Calder from Dead Rising 4

TheDead Risingseriesis one of the most beloved video game franchises in Xbox’s library. While the latest game in the series was more of a mixed bag for many gamers, there’s no denying the fact that controlling Frank West once again was a great feeling.

What made this game even more memorable was Lance Corporal Calder, the first zombie in the game to feature a consciousness and an intelligent train of thought. However, the infection had still addled his brain for good, leading him to believe a twisted ideology that would sacrifice the entirety of humanity for what he believed to be the “greater good.”

5Queen Myrrah (Gears Of War)

Gears of Warisone of the most iconic third-person shooters ever made. The fact that this series integrated cover shooting for the first time in a video game is proof enough of how revolutionary the games are, with Marcus Fenix and his squad saving Earth from alien threats time and time again.

The Locust horde is easily one of the most oppressive alien forces to try and invade, so it only makes sense that the person who’s egging them on would be a destructive and heinous villain. Queen Myrrah definitely falls within this description, with her ruthless nature being indicative of how little she values the human race.

4Maligula (Psychonauts)

Psychonautsis one of the most unique and enjoyable platforming franchises around. The first game had a dastardly villain of his own, although his destructive nature was nowhere near as high as the antagonist ofthe second game.

The fact that Maligula is a serial killer should be proof enough of just how disturbed this villain really is. It takes the effort of every notable psychic around to finally weaken her and do away with her murderous presence for good.

3Paul Serene (Quantum Break)

In his heart, there’s no denying that Paul Serene had a somewhat noble goal in mind. After all, the End of Time is nothing to scoff at, and it was great to see this character try and do everything in his power to stop this event from occurring.

However, the reality is that Paul’s twisted experiments caused the Fracture in Time that would lead to this apocalyptic event in the first place. He has no one but himself to blame for the fate that the universe is heading for, and the ruthless nature in which he strives to achieve this goal seems like a way to just hide from his own responsibilities.

2Jack Of Blades (Fable)

The originalFableis still considered by many to beone of the greatest western role-playing games ever made. The world of Albion is a joy to explore, with the hero actually growing in age as he levels up and accomplishes quests.

The main antagonist of the game is Jack of Blades, who is notorious for forcing people to do his bidding through monstrous actions in a bid to take away their free will. It goes without saying that stopping this antagonist would be the need of the hour, and the Hero of Albion manages to achieve the same… not just once, but twice!

1Charles Goodwin (Crackdown)

TheCrackdownseries could have been something great, butthe lackluster quality of the third gamehas arguably put the nail in its coffin sooner than intended. It’s a shame, especially given the massive hype of the third installment before release.

The antagonist who plays a major role across all threeCrackdowngames is Charles Goodwin, who — along with the Agency itself — is responsible for funding the crime syndicates in the city that the player needs to take down. The reasoning behind this is to make players experience total anarchy before they can accept absolute control, which is a pretty twisted plan indeed.
